- 2004-06-05 - The Police Bike Safety Clinic for youth hit a new participation record high - 59. Previous high was 41 in 1999, and last two years was 17 each. The secret seemed to be getting the announcement fliers out. (The free helmets offered by the Bedford Police may also have been a factor.) Ralph says a parents group does it at Davis (grades K, 1, & 2), and that seemed to be the largest age group. Some parents said most sports activities had ended, except for soccer. The weather was beautiful and the activities ran well with excellent police and Friends participation.
- 2002-03-25 - Bedford Annual Town Meeting approves warrant article 9, an amendment to the zoning bylaw requiring secure bicycle parking in most new parking lots. While this article was brought by citizens' petition, the instigators are members of the Bedford Friends of the Minuteman Bikeway (and the BBAC). - 1997 - Bedford Annual Town Meeting approves construction of Narrow Gauge Rail Trail, from Loomis Street near the end of the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway to the Billerica town line, with hard stonedust surface.
- 1997 - Free Bicycle Valet Parking introduced at Bedford Day by the Bedford Friends of the Minuteman Bikeway.
- 1993 - The Bedford segment of the Minuteman Commuter Bikeway is dedicated, marking the completion of what has become one of the most utilized rail-trail conversions in the country.
